A couple weeks ago I heard the Lord say,
“Mimi, there needs to be a mindset shift”
I had been so frustrated and to be honest a bit angry at seeing loved ones drift away from what is important.
From family, friendships, their relationship with God, and just plain life. All to chase after things that are just distractions that turn into disruptions.
I watched how after even a short period of time, they seemed to be miles away from where they started. Away from their families, away from what centered them, away from Him, the One who knows them at the core.
It was like watching a wave take them out to sea and they were too preoccupied to notice. They were focused on everything but where they were headed and what they were leaving behind…Until it was too late and they were in over their heads, gasping for help.
I started a conversation with God about how I wished I could throw out a rope and yell for them to grab on. I wanted to pull them back from the distance, back from the compromise, back from the numbness their hearts had succumb to.
I was telling God I could see that one little compromise became two, then three…where conviction used to live, the white noise of compromise filled in the space. They couldnt feel the tug on their hearts as quick, or hear the voice of the Spirit as clear as before telling them which way to go, so they went their own way…
Dont get me wrong, I know our hearts tends to wander, and that we dont always make the “right next step”
I know there is grace for that, I’m not talking about that I’m talking about how compromise steals and causes our spiritual senses to dull and become deaf to the Spirits leading.
It steals ground and authority, peace and perspective.
I’ve watched how a choice to view porn became a secret, that then became an addiction, that led to an affair and the distruction of a family.
I’ve watched how the choice to put a career and making a name for oneself above all else, sacrificing kids and family became an obsession until the job failed. The choice to compromise family found nothing left and no one there to come home to… The scenerio goes on and on. I‘m sure you’ve heard the stories or felt the outcome of compromise in your family, friends or even your own life.
As Christians we arent immune, we need to be so rooted and grounded in Gods truth that those little compromises are able to be seen for what they are…the enemy’s plan to steal your authority, your destiny and your calling.
But here’s the good news, God is ever present to help and heal!
“Many times you would have come to rescue them,
but they continued in their rebellious ways,
choosing to ignore your warnings.
Then they sank lower and lower, destroyed by their depravity.
Yet even so, you waited and waited,
watching to see if they would turn
and cry out to you for a father’s help.
And then, when you heard their cry,
you relented and you remembered your covenant,
and you turned your heart toward them again,
according to your abundant, overflowing, and limitless love.”Psalms 106:43-45 TPT
You see we can have
a mindset drift
OR
a mindset shift….
I’m praying today for a mindset shift that calls hearts back to their true love. The One that knows, sees and desires your whole heart, not a piece or a fragment of your attention, but your full gaze.
Give Him your next 15 minutes, ask Him for grace for the areas that you need His help. Ask His forgiveness for the places you’ve compromised and then let His mercy rush in and cover you. Ask Him to bring into view what is truly important and let His love guide your response. Let His presence call your heart back into alignment with His. You’ll find His mercy, grace and love have been waiting to steady your balance and reveal His perspective…giving you a mindset shift!
“Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.”
Colossians 3:2
“I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the LORD; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart.”
Jeremiah 24:7
